Is “more clients” really what you want?
I’ve read a lot of responses to the question,
“What would success look like to you?”
And one of the most common answers is some version of:
“More clients and increased top line revenue.”
Totally valid. But I always want to dig a little deeper:
Do you really want more clients?
Or just more top line — no matter how many clients it takes?Do you really want more top line?
Or just more take-home pay — no matter what top line gets you there?
What people usually want is more take-home pay.
And often, they assume “more clients” is the path to get there.
They assume it’s the only path.
More clients for more top line revenue for more take home pay is A path.
But… it’s rarely the easiest path.
If what you want is more take-home pay, there are easier paths than going by way of more clients.
