What do I say to people I put on my waitlist?

What do I say to people I don’t have room for, but want to offer to be on my waitlist? I don’t want to be rude, and it’s not the norm in the accounting space. We’re used to saying Yes to everyone, and this just feels so weird.

You are welcome to add your name to our waitlist, and we can reach out to you when we anticipate an opening becoming available. There is no deposit required to be on the waitlist., and if the time isn’t right when we reach out to you, you are welcome to hold your spot on the list.
