Price High, Limit Capacity

Five purchases made in the last month that have:

  1. been priced high

  2. had limited capacity / spots / seats

  3. required payment in full up front

  4. had dates or a timeline I could choose from
     


Plane tickets to Buffalo to see family (during the eclipse!):

  • Paid more than I wanted but #whatareyagonnado

  • There are only 2 flights a day outta my tiny-town

  • Paid in full up front for something 4 months away

  • Got to pick dates I wanted to fly

     

Tickets to Sabres game:

  • This team can’t get over .500 :(

  • Not that many seats left

  • Paid in full up front

  • Playing 2 nights, got to pick



Girl Scout camp:

  • Per week, it’s on par with college tuition

  • These things fill in a flash - better have the credit card ready

  • Paid in full up front

  • Got to pick one of 8 weeks

     

Business tax return:

  • That’s a flight to Paris

  • Only 10 spots available

  • Paid in full, in December

  • Got to pick my week

In situations where they could:

  1. price high

  2. limit supply

  4. offer which week



Many CPAs:

  1. price low

  2. allow supply to exceed capacity

  3. wait to get paid

  4. serve at the convenience of the client.
