Why Pricing Intangibles is the Ninja Move

Why’s the black jacket priced at $399 and the red jacket priced at $279 when they’re the exact same jacket?

Maybe:

  • The company made too many jackets and wants to move the red ones

  • The low price of the red jacket attracts buyers to shop for and purchase other items

  • The relatively high price of the black jacket serves to make the red jacket look like a good deal in comparison

  • Buyers like black better

Pricing might look like math, and it might look like money.
