Guarding your time like a castle

Recently, I offered that you try saying no until it hurts.

Not sure where to start? Here’s the low hanging fruit:

Notifications – Turn them off. All of them. I don't want to hear your Outlook dinging. Make exceptions for 2–3 key people, max.

Social media – Shut it down. OFF-off. Or, give yourself a 20-minute timer and stick to it.

Interruptions + fragmentations – Decline phone calls, decline meeting requests, close the door, and use Do Not Disturb. These cost more than they seem.

Courses + content – Avoid trying to learn too many things at once. Pick one thing to implement fully. Then come back for the next.

I want you to think of your time, focus, and attention like a medieval castle: moat, crocodiles, drawbridge, crenelated battlements. NO ONE CAN GET IN.

Start with those, and you’ll free up a good bit of time.
