Five ways to say no
Money is nice. Time is better. – David C Baker
Business opportunities are like busses. A new one comes around every ten minutes. – Richard Branson
…
In order to say “yes” to yourself and the life you want, it helps requires saying “no.”
Sure, it can be hard to say “no.”
At first.
But learn, you must.
…
Scripts can help, so here are five ways:
1. The “Booked” No:
Thank you so much for asking, but my time is already committed.
2. Similarly, the “Calendar is Full” No:
Thank you for inviting me, but I have checked my calendar for that day and there is no availability.
3. The “Apologetic” No:
I wish I could, but {this week, this month, this year, this lifetime} isn’t convenient. :)
4. The “Let Me See Who Can Help You” No:
I am not a position to help you, but let me recommend someone you might talk to.
5. Plain Old No:
Thanks, but I will have to pass.
…
Remember, another business opportunity will come around in ten minutes. But once they’re gone, your minutes won't be back.
